Epsom Downs ... view of London

I played golf yesterday on Epsom Downs. It's an interesting course anyway, but the VIEWS! Breathtaking!!
It was a glorious day, coldish but not frosty, and amazingly clear. From several holes on the top of the Downs, near near Epsom Race Course, we could see across the whole of London to the hills beyond (?Hampstead Heath etc).
The planes could be seen coming in to land at Heathrow to the west and the sun was glinting on the gherkin building (what's it called?) out towards Canary Wharf in the east.
In between we could easily make out the Wembley Arch, the London Eye and other well known landmarks. No wonder people just come to sit in the public car park opposite the Grandstand just to look at the view.
